Situated in the outskirts of Kisumu City in Kenya’s Nyanza province is Barkorwa Community resource center. It is housed in the Barkorwa Mixed Primary School in Upper Kombewa Division, Kisumu West District.

AfriAfya helped start the center in 2006 with a grant from Plan Netherlands and in collaboration with the East Katieno Community-Based Organisation (CBO). It caters for the information needs of a population of about 4,000 people, comprising of school children and the surrounding community.
