AfriAfya has been recognized for its work both locally and internationally, with invitations to present its work at many fora, including two DOT Force workshops, a CIDA knowledge-sharing workshop and three North American Universities. 

AfriAfya was involved in the piloting of a computerised health management information system (HMIS) in some parts of Kenya and South Sudan together with Aga Khan Health services and AMREF and this led to its successful replication countrywide. 

AfriAfya is also a member of the Ministry of Health Technical Working Groups for HMIS and e-Health. AfriAfya was also a finalist in the IICD 2002 ICT stories competition, and was one of five laureates named for the prestigious 2003 Tech Museum Awards: Technology Benefiting Humanity, presented in San Jose, California on 15th October 2003.
